About me...
I began Creative Harmonies in order to provide a continuously evolving and growing set of expressive arts and holistic health services, reflective my beliefs about power of music, the creative process and wellness. The current array of services I provide including individual and group music therapy, labyrinth facilitation, pet therapy and collaborative music services.
My training includes a Masters degree in music therapy from Immaculata University and bachelors degree in music performance (piano) from Ithaca College. I have advanced training in clinical supervision, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, and the recovery model for psychiatric settings. As a music therapist, I truly believe in the power of music to change lives in profound ways. Music can be a doorway to personal growth and understanding, self expression, healing and much more. Nested in the creative process, creating music inherently calls us to find our voice and express our innermost selves. On my journey through clinical practice and leadership, I have discovered additional modalities that complement my work as a music therapist, including labyrinth walking and pet therapy. It has been a great privilege to share these complementary practices with others in the community and professional world!
As a supervisor, I believe in a structured yet flexible collaborative relationship that helps the clinician work towards professional goals. Supervision can involve elements including structured skill development for verbal and music therapy, discussion of real-time concerns and clinical scenarios, observation and feedback, and much more. I am open to both face-to-face and distance supervision for clinicians choosing to pursue licensure.
Personally, I have a great love of the outdoors including hiking, kayaking and cross country skiing with my wonderful husband Jason and dogs, Sadie and Sammy.
